BRIGHT DEMOGRAPHIC/TOWN PROFILE
One of the jewels of the Alpine Region, Bright has long been a popular visitor destination. Just 312km's north east of Melbourne and 29km's west of Myrtleford, Bright is best reached via the Great Alpine Road. Embraced by Mountain ranges in the upper reaches of the Ovens Valley, Bright offers users an amazing array of activities and attractions, food and wine experiences and a diverse range of accommodation options. Whether you're a backpacker, family or a couple with a passion for high quality bed & breakfasts there is something to suit all visitors in Bright.
When in Bright you can cruise the many galleries and collectable shops, experience one of the many street cafés or take a dip or walk along the Ovens River. From Bright you can also take a short tour of towns further up the valley such as Wandiligong, Smoko and Harrietville or take the breathtaking drive over the Tawonga Gap to Mt Beauty and Falls Creek. All these towns and areas offer their own unique experience and are well worth a visit.
